I have never owned a playstation, should I buy a PSP, advice please

Hi

I am new to the forums and, incidentally I am also new to the playstation world!

I have traditionally used a PC and I have never actually played with a playstation before but I have recently become much more interested in the non-pc world of gaming, mainly because of the stunning graphics available on the playstation devices and the fact that some new games are not available on the PC format.

As I am not familiar with playstation, I was wondering if anyone here could provide me with some advice and information.

I am hoping to buy a PSP 3000 Slim because I love the look of the device and the fact that you can watch movies AND play games. I have looked around youtube and I think the gameplay on the PSP is quite cool, and it looks an overall nice thing to own.

However, I am not sure of the format involved in the PSP, and the memory which it holds. I was wondering, does the PSP have an internal memory? When I install games onto the PC it takes up quite a large part of memory and I was wondering how does the installation process work on the PSP and how one saves games? Also, how many songs and pictures can one put on the PSP and how much memory does this usually take up - also does this impair the gameplay?

I am looking to buy the new vibrant blue PSP 3000 Slim for £159 which comes with Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Game and two Harry Potter movies which I think is a pretty good price.

I am also buying the new ITouch 32 GB and I was wondering how the PSP would compliment the ITouch, so could anyone give me a rundown of the PSP, its coolest features, its performance, style and gameplay, which would be fantastic thanks.

Also, can anyone tell me what to watch out for in the PSP and what the movie and sound quality is like in the PSP 3000 Slim. I am aware that the PSP Go is coming out in October but I am not sure that I would like to buy a device which relies on downloads entirely.

Thanks!

i am also new to the ps world, just got ps3 for christmas and psp go yesterday for my birthday (great presents from my girlfriend)

if you are looking to play the games at home go for the ps3, especially if you are getting a iphone touch, the iphone gavems have been compaired to the psp mini games (not the full versions)

the psp has the ability to hook up to the tv or computer monitor, have not yet figured that out yet but i know its possible.

with my limited use of the psp and hours racked in on the ps3 i would say go for it and get call of duty modern warefare 2

Ok i would recommend the PSP umd version 2 it has tv out functionality and works nice.

the features of using the psp with the ps3 include.

1. Gameshare: you can transfer psone games to your psp once purchased from the playstation store on the playstation network.

2. Remote play: give's you a chance to play ps3 games on the psp's screen.

I love my psp and my ps3 so i would recommend both.
