PS3 120 GB Slim VS PS3 160 GB. Which one should I buy?

HI. I will be buying a PS3. I could buy the 120gb slim or the 160 gb "older" model with 3 games. I am wondering anyone has any advice or thoughts on each version besides the size factor. Both are $299

Thanks in advance...

I happened to pick up a Slim with 2 games and a Blu-ray DVD. Pretty solid deal for $299. My advice? Look at a couple of things. Backwards compatability. Neither of them probably offer it anymore, so that may be a moot point. Other than that, if there are no other options, I would probably go with the 160 w/3 games, myself. Just because value is important to me. More storage and 3 games.

The slim is smaller, but not by a whole lot and, to be honest, I don't see a huge difference in the operations of either version. Others may disagree, but that's just my opinion.

Hope that helps.

Well the question i would ask is what are you going to do with the ps3.

Gaming??

Video???

Music???

psone classics on the ps3 store???

ps3 home???

The reason i ask is this is simple.

Most ps3 games require anywhere from 8gig's of hard drive space to 10 gig's being the max.

the only game that doesn't fall under this is God of war III the first ps3 game to only use 5MB of save space on the hard drive.

Then you have to have space for your downloads and updates.

online updates range from 456 mb to 1.6 gb.

downloadable content: ranges from 100 mb a piece to 456 mb a piece

now for the home channel.

The home channel reserves 3 gig's of hard drive space to download each section of the home channel.

then video's

most videos range from 500 meg's to 1.6 gig's.

and for music what every you put on will run from 600 Mb to 700Mb depending on what you convert the music into.

in all do aspects.

Purchase the 160 Gig this will get you started.

and then you can upgrade from there i would recommend to save money on hard drives seagate has a 2tb external hard drive i would purchase one and then take the drive cage apart and remove the drive and place it in the ps3.
ton's of storage for only $150.00
